- After three beautiful years in Portland, USA, I am back in Saudi Arabia together with my little family. Not only have Mohammed and I gained so much reflection and maturity while brick building a life together far and away, giving birth to Eyad, enrolling in Master's programs & socializing with diverse crowds, we have also gained corrective glasses!

It is not the fault of Saudi Arabia that the Olympics committee insists on refusing all recommendations made for Muttwaa approved sports. Here are some of the requests which have been rejected recently:
- Abbya endurance event: involves women wearing black abbyas while trying to maneuver through an obstacle course in 100 degree temperature.
- MahramThon: Tests the women spousal obedience skills in 3 categories: Cooking, House Cleaning and Childcare (including husband of course)
- Salfi Gymnastics: Measures artistic and flexibility skills. Involves women developing geometric shapes while covered in an Afghani style Burgah.
In my opinion, it is a conspiracy to block Saudi from winning its first gold medal.

you have been away for too long lol... but seriously, sports in saudi have bigger problems than women participating in the olympics.. e.g. the all girl university soccer tournament that was canceled two years ago..
it makes your blood boil..

the Saudi Team was very lousy . am sure you know sports does not hold a high status in our value system.
CNN link you had talked about "preventing " them from participating ! among the 15 million women in saudi i wonder if there was a SINLGE one individual woman (that is 0.00000007% ) now sitting at home feeling that her dream was trashed and she could have participated and got a medal hasn't she been "prevented" from going !
we can talk about encouraging sports for both genders . but talking about prevented participation doesn't sound fair to me .

If the olympics are held in KSA, will then be any participation from a female from KSA? Sports level need to planned carefully.
